Chairman's Message

Over the past two years, Eunos CC Youth Club has grown to become more vibrant. We have seen an increase in the number of youths participating in our activities. On average, the Youth Executive Committee (YEC) organised at least one activity per month since September 2007. The YEC aims to continue doing this, as it brands the Youth Club as an active youth organisation always trying out new ideas and organising meaningful activities for everyone.

Other than YEC activities, Youth Club members participated actively in National and Constituency activities such as policy forums, outings, dialogues and special celebrations. Most notably, our YEC and Service Learning Club (SLC) members were part of the People’s Associaion Youth Movement (PAYM) delegation at the inaugural PAYM SLC Young Ambassadors Programme in November 2008 to Hainan Island, China and PAYM-Hong Kong Youth Exchange Programme in February 2009. In the long run, we hope to attract more young people to be involved in grassroots activities.

Eunos CC YEC enjoys a strong partnership with Bedok North Secondary School SLC. Since the first Orientation Programme organised for SLC members in December 2007, we had jointly organised two major projects, ‘Suntertainment’ and ‘Are YOUths Stressed? Stress in school – to benefit or to get rid”. SLC members also lent support in other projects such as ‘Fun with Email’ where residents attended a workshop on using Email at Bedok North Secondary School and ‘Project Give’ where students went door-to-door to collect food items for the needy.

The 13th term Eunos CC YEC boasts a dynamic team of energetic young Grassroots Leaders aspiring to make Eunos more hip and happening. One week after our Biennial General Meeting, the YEC successfully organised an outdoor dance party celebrating Singapore’s 44th birthday, ‘YouthOUT 2009’ attracting more than 800 participants.
