The 13th term Eunos Community Club Youth Executive Committee was elected on 25 July 2009, during the 13th Biennial General Meeting held at Eunos Community Club.
1. Mr Sear Hock Rong Hock Rong first started to participate in community work when he was 14. Since then, he has never given up helping people and serving the community. When Hock Rong started to volunteer at the weekly Meet-the-People Session in Eunos Constituency in 2004, he was encouraged by other volunteers to join the Residents’ Committee. Having served a few years with the Residents’ Committee, he decided to contribute more time into serving in other volunteer and grassroots organisations. He is currently serving a 2nd term as Chairman of Eunos CC Youth Executive Committee. He aspires to organise more activities to engage younger residents and instill in them an interest to take a more active stake in the community. Awards/Mentions:
2. Mr Fong Yoong Kheong Yoong Kheong majors in Political Science at the National University of Singapore. As a student leader, he served as Chairman of Temasek JC Photographic Society and Chairman of Damai Secondary School AV Club. In his first year at Kg Chai Chee Mandarin/English Toastmasters Club, he was elected as Vice President Education. He is now the President. Appointed by People's Association as a New Media Champion for Eunos, he set up various Facebook groups to reach out to youths in Eunos as well as websites, namely for his RC and the YEC. He had also been in the youth panel for the then FeedBack Unit (now REACH). He is passionate in local politics and current affairs. An active blogger, he owns a blog at www.furykid.blogspot.com. He hopes to make Eunos a vibrant place by attracting more youth into grassroots through YEC activities and youth initiatives such as environment conservation and community service. Awards/Mentions:
3. Ms Pristine Chan Pristine is pursuing her direct Masters course in Architecture at the National University of Singapore Since young, Pristine took up various leadership roles in school. She was a school prefect since Primary 3 and was voted by her peers to be the Captain of the House of Prefects. As a girl guide in secondary school, she held two positions concurrently as a Patrol Leader and Quarter Mistress. Upon graduation from the school, she went on to organise the Damai Girl Guides Annual Campfire, the first-ever campfire planned by the school’s girl guide alumni. Despite entering Saints Bowling of Saint Andrew Junior College much later than her peers, she was selected to be in the school team and represented SAJC in the National ‘A’ Division Bowling Championship. She was also an Exco member of Saints Bowling, as well as the Class Rep. Pristine has a keen interest in community service. Regularly hanging out in the neighbourhood, she hopes to do her part in creating a vibrant youth scene in Eunos and contribute to society. Awards/Mentions:
4. Mr Mohamed Faiq Djasin Bin Abdul Rahman Faiq is currently pursuing a Diploma in Industrial Operations and Management at Republic Polytechnic. He believes that he has the skills and network to contribute towards the YEC and community. One of his goals is to bridge the gap of the community and the government. Faiq has a passion to serve and assist those in need. He hopes to develop the Youth Club to be more popular and encourage more youths to participate and benefit from the activities. Faiq was a member of the bridge leader during my school days and his experience in working as a team has given him a sense of self-satisfaction. During his National Service in 2007, he was awarded with the Best Enlistee Award and Company Best Award. He also received the CCA Merit Award for his outstanding contributions as a student leader in Secondary School. He has tried various part-time jobs ranging from cleaning, telemarketing, cargo to event management. Through these jobs, he has picked up different skills and met people from all walks of life. Faiq loves sports and adventure. He enjoys meeting people and he hopes to help the YEC reach out to more youths. Awards/Mentions:
5. Mr Muhammad Husien Bin Khamis The feeling of rootedness to his homeland, as well as the aspiration to give back to the community, are some of the reasons that urged Muhammad Husien Bin Khamis to return to Singapore in December 2008. After spending six months as an observer, the 27 year-old decides to run for an official position as he believes that he can contribute significantly to realize the body’s mission and vision. If elected, Husien’s objective is to bring the YEC to an even higher level and in the process, build a stronger and more dynamic community. He trusts that the social skills he have garnered during his various stints while studying at the Australian National University – such as the International Representative and an Academic Mentor – will be efficacious when he serves in the YEC. He also believes that his tenure at the Australian Institute of International Affairs has honed his leadership capabilities. Husien’s passion to give back to the society is manifested when he took up relief teaching over the past five months. He recently joined the APEC Organising Secretariat as Assistant Director (Operations). Husien hopes that his skills and passion will be an asset to the YEC in the new term.
6. Mr Kam Chee Lee Kam Chee Lee currently works at Gleneagles Hospital . He also serves as an Alumni member of Damai Secondary School , where he helped out in various leadership camps, both local and overseas. After participating in the trip to Southern Ridges organised in 2008, he was invited by Yoong Kheong to a YEC meeting to find out more about the Youth Club. After attending the meeting, he regretted not knowing about the Youth Club earlier. Having observed several meetings, he felt an urge to contribute towards the community. He has assisted in several major YEC activities such as the Year End Dinner cum Launch of Website and Eunos Healthy Lifestyle Day. YEC has opened up another road for him to do his part for the community. He had the opportunity to meet new people and made many friends. He looks forward to organising more activities with other YEC members.
7. Mr Pang Toh Wee Toh Wee has lived in Eunos for more than 20 years. He graduated from Singa pore Polytechnic with a Diploma with Merit in Civil and Structural Engineering. Toh Wee has been actively involved in community activities for the past 10 years. For instance, Toh Wee is an active Civil Defence volunteer and he has assisted in organising various events like the Blood Donation Drive and the annual Emergency Preparedness Day. He is also a very active Scout Leader helping out in his alma mater, Mnajusri Secondary School . He is passionate in teaching and instilling positive values in youths. Having different work experiences as a camp instructor and relief teacher, it further enhances his capabilities in communicating with the youths and understands them better. Toh Wee is able to clique with them very easily. Being an outdoor and adventurous person, Toh Wee likes to try out new things and participate in competitive races like the SAFRA Avventura Adventure Race and also the Standard Charted Marathon. Toh Wee hopes to be in the YEC as he likes to work with the youths and wish to engage more youth into helping out the community.
8. Mr Noor Abdillah Bin Ali Abdillah is currently serving NS in the Police Force and has a keen interest in community work. He has been volunteering in Eunos for a few years and was elected as Social Education Secretary at the last YEC BGM. Abdillah's experience in events management has helped him contribute towards many YEC activities. Despite his NS commitments, he still makes it a point to attend the monthly meetings and contribute in whichever ways he can. He was also Head Librarian in Ping Yi Secondary School and has been an active student leader even at ITE College East (Simei). For his efforts and contributions towards the school and community, Abdillah received the National Youth Achievement Award (Silver) in 2007. He hopes to organise activities to engage more youths. 9. Mr V. Somasundram [Appointed Member] Sundram got introduced to community work in Eunos by his cousin. Living in Eunos for over 10 years, he believes that he can give back to the estate that he lived in, by involving himself in community work. He is currently employed by Nanyang Technological University as a library officer in the university’s Art, Design & Media Library. He is also pursuing his undergraduate degree in Information and Communication Technology at the SIM University. He was in the St. John’s Ambulance Brigade in secondary school. During his NS days, he was one of the few non-combat soldiers to be awarded the formation’s Best Soldier for the month, in recognition of his contributions to the logistics administration of his unit. His other interests include movies, graphic design & social networking tools. He is also actively participating in the Eunos CC Indian Activities Executive Committee as its Secretary. Awards/Mentions: 10. Ms Siti Rahayu Siti Rahayu is currently studying Precision Engineering (Medical) at ITE College Central (Ang Mo Kio). She has been living in Eunos since the age of four. She joined YEC in September 2006 together with Jialing and had a great time learning and getting to know more people through YEC activities. They shared an interest in volunteering and giving back to society. Despite having to work part-time to support her family, Rahayu still finds time to help out at the YEC and RC. For her active involvement in the RC, she was appointed Block Representative in 2006. Rahayu hopes to continue organising activities to engage Eunos residents.
11. Ms Huang Huijing Huijing studied at Damai Secondary School and was very active in the Girl Guides. In Secondary 2, she was appointed as a Patrol Leader and Head of Welfare for the Company. Under her leadership, Damai Girl Guides managed to emerge winners in various competitions. In Secondary 3, she was promoted to Company Leader. Huijing also participated in an overseas community service project in Phuket , Thailand to help those affected by the Tsunami. In 2006, she was also awarded Meritorious Service Award for her outstanding performance in the Girl Guides. After her O Levels, Huijing studied at Merdian Junior College . She represented her school in the National Inter-School Volleyball ‘A’ Division Championships. In 2008, she was chosen to be Orientation Group Leader to lead a group of 25 freshmen during the Freshmen Orientation in games, cheers and the Finale Night with her enthusiasm and positive attitude. 12. Ms Goh Hui Li Hui Li was active in the social sector ever since 2007. She was a Youth Panelist with Young Changemakers (YCM) under National Youth Council. During her term, she has to review community projects from informal groups and award seed fundings accordingly. She was norminated by YCM to be one of the delegates to attend Asean Youth Creativity Expo in Jakarta , Indonesia that same year with two other Singapore delegates and they managed to clinch the "Best Masterpiece Award". She also started volunteering at YMCA that same year and became the President of YMCA Reading Club at the Spastic Children Assoication of Singapore and led a highly competent and committed team of volunteer leaders in providing their ideas to make each programme memorable and fruitful for both beneficiaries and volunteers. She was nominated by YMCA for Stars of Shine Award, an award that recognised youths who showed outstanding dedication towards others in the community through community and voluntary work.
13. Ms Nor Erlina Khamdan Erlina is currently studying in ITE College East and is an active student leader in the Community Service Club. She has always been very active in community work since her primary school days and she is passionate about helping the needy. She would visit the homes and entertain the children and elderly with performances and games. She was also a volunteer in a programme helping to clean up the flats of those elderly living alone. In the process, she learnt that family and money should not be taken for granted and she hopes to do her part in promoting quality family life and healthy activities. Erlina is eager to contribute towards Eunos Youth Club and she looks forward to enriching herself through the Club’s activities. She sees herself as a team player who is energetic and she hopes to share with others her experience in organising events for youths. She looks forward to working with the YEC to organise meaningful activities for residents.
14. Ms Diana Chua Diana has been serving YEC since the age of 15. She found out about the YEC through her mother who was serving in the Residents’ Committee and she decided to volunteer with her best friend, Rahayu. Diana enjoys working on youth activities with her fellow YEC members. She feels a sense of achievement each time an activity was successfully organized. Being involved YEC, she has the opportunity to meet new people, make new friends and learn from each other. Diana has a keen interest in traveling and diving. She hopes to organize a diving trip through the YEC someday. Continuing another term in YEC, she hopes to help organize more activities to engage more youths. She also hopes to do her part in helping the needy.
15. Mr Mohammad Huzaifi Bin Mohammad Abdul Mubin Huzaifi is currently pursuing his studies at Hanssfield. His interest lies in aggressive sports such as boxing and also dragon boating. He was co-opted as an Executive Member of the YEC in 2008. Since 2007, Huzaifi been actively involved in the activities of the YEC and he aspires to do more for the Youth Club. He aims to organise more sporty events to engage younger residents and encourage them to participate in community activities. He enjoys working as a team and hopes to continue serving in the coming term of the YEC
16. Mr Khoo Yi Feng "Starting out, think of what you can do for the world." Devoting time and effort to worthy causes like youth movement and volunteerism have been a calling that has been on Yi Feng’s mind for two years. But owing to personal commitments and the fourth deadly sin: sloth, this has only remained an idea. But not anymore! A sports enthusiast, Yi Feng hopes to lend his energy to contributing in whichever small way, with like-minded individuals and act on bettering the community. Yi Feng graduated from Meridian Junior College with satisfactory results and is currently serving National Service. He is deeply passionate about martial arts and drew strength from.

21. Mr Jordan Ng [Appointed Member] Jordan is currently pursuing his studies at Raffles Institution. He has been actively participating in his school to organize events for his cohort and peers. He was also recently elected to be one of the five members for his house EXCO in school. He also served his class as part of the Class Elective Committee for two years. Jordan is a member of the RI Sailing team and used to be a national sailor a few years back. He also enjoys sports such as basketball, soccer and running. Jordan was involved in a school-based Service Learning project where he worked with the Council For Third Age to organize an amazing race to bridge inter-generational gaps. Having gained much experience over the years in leading and organizing major events successfully, Jordan hopes to bring with him, knowledge and enthusiasm in engaging the youths in Eunos community to live in a more exciting, fun and enriching lifestyle.
22. Mr Teo Wei Kiat [Appointed Member] Wei Kiat is currently studying at East View Secondary School. He started volunteering since he was 10. In 2009, he received a certificate of appreciation from the YEC at the Year End Party. Having served the community for 6 years, he became the youngest YEC member when he turned 15. He has a keen interest in Photography.
